Karyn Nesby
I am 80% Midwesterner, sprinkled with 20% southern charm! Striving towards excellence! Realizing a straight path to achieving career goals is more the exception than the rule. However, I have been able to stay flexible and continue to knock down barriers. One thing that is constant is I have a knack for coaching people to find their way, reset or trailblaze new territory.
Born and raised in Kansas, now living in Florida. I received my Bachelor of Science in Advertising from Kansas State University and Master of Arts in Management & Leadership from Webster University. I earned a certificate in Personal Development Coaching, and I am a Project Management Professional (PMP) ®, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and I have a NNG User Experience Management Certification (UXC). I am also an Adjunct Professor for Management & Leadership courses for Master degree candidates.
I enjoy volunteering with nonprofits. I am the former Chair for the National African American Women’s Leadership Institute, currently Board Member of Brown Girls Do Ballet®, and Expert Educator for the She Wins Society.
In over 20 years of professional experience, I have built talented and diverse teams at Fortune 500 companies in Big Tech and Corporate with a focus on leading women-focused initiatives and advocating for creative professionals in the workplace.
Throughout my career, I had to learn that my knowledge and experience would get my foot in the door but leadership, diplomacy, and using my voice would aid in career progression.
My superpower is working with design & tech professionals, first- time managers, emerging leaders and career pivoters to uncover their personal strengths, identify blind spots and define a personal brand.
